hmm never see much of you. And you can share my misery with bad hair cuts ive had a three year streak of not picking the right cut or getting good hair stylist. It is a huge reason why I let he lion mane go so unruly because i dread hair cuts. I need to find a furry hair stylist who will listen to what I WANT dammit or somone with taste because hell i have none when it comes to dressing myself or hair..
Yeah, I've been keeping myself real busy (as you can see) and really only ever appear online sporadically - even most of my LJ writing and surfing is done at work (where it's the only thing of the sort they haven't yet blocked). I also never make it out to Oshawa, although I am planning to be out there on Dec 14 for a Battle of the Bands that a furry named Azriahl is competing in. It's in the afternoon, so we could totally hang out afterward - or even during, if you feel like coming to a Battle of the Bands. :)
as far as my research says, "Fuck You I'm Drunk" is by 'Bondo', whoever the heck they are. That one was difficult to track down, since it suffers greatly from the "band-misnaming syndrome" so very common with songs that get passed around on the net: lyrics get posted and people say "who was that" and someone says "i don't know, it must be Flogging Molly, cuz they're Celtic and they swear" and so on and so on.
In other news, I am making good use of my M-Audio Mobile Pre (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MobilePreUSB.html) to record vocals on my musical projects. It's super cheap but the company also offers other hardware with more options, and all of it is compatible with ProTools for your recording needs. My unit has some annoying -38dB noise, but honestly what home recording stuff doesn't? You probably gotta spend big to get the -60dB noise floors.
Yeah, it's like take any funny song by a Canadian comedy troupe and do a search for it, and you have a 40% chance of it being attributed to "The Arrogant Worms", 40% chance of "Corky and the Juice Pigs", 5% chance of "Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie", 5% chance of "Barenaked Ladies", 5% chance of "Moxy Fruvous", and 5% chance of someone else - almost exactly in proportion to their popularity as a comedy troupe. It's like it's randomly assigned with the suitable statistical chance of someone THINKING of that band first. Which - it is!
"Bondo" sounds familiar, actually, though I've no idea why. Anyways, fun song. :)
M-Audio stuff is certainly in my mind, particularly because of teh Pro-Tools compatibility - it's an industry standard, and it would be nice to know that, should I ever want to do something in a professional studio, that I could swap files back and forth seamlessly - I could take their finished file and tweak or remix if I want, or record something additional and bring it in to them to add to the track, whatever.
A traveling studio is definitely possible. I think halioffirpine is getting there. I record on a desktop personally, but I have a low-end mixer and a Firewire Solo sound card... not sure if I could fit the Shop in a suitcase, but it will definitely fit in my car, assuming I used the laptop for recording. The biggest part is the keyboard.
*nods* You know what would be really fun? A week-long furry music vacation - find a few like-minded furs with musical inclinations and get together for week somewhere, with instruments and recording equipment at ready, all bring our existing songs and new ideas, and then spend the whole week jamming out and shaping the songs we've brought, writing and arranging new songs, and recording everything. I bet a few talented guys, dedicated to it for a week, could turn out a complete furry album in that time. I think it would be an awesome project! Besides Mr. Ebel and yourself, I could certainly think of a few other furs who'd be up for it, depending on time and location. And depending on the musical styles of the people involved, it could turn out to be some really interesting stuff. :)
