• Take a picture of yourself right now. • Don't change your clothes. Don't fix your hair. • Post that picture with no editing. • Post these instructions with your picture.
I generally liked the pic except my chin/neck, so I chopped it and shrunk it to make a more-current icon while I was at it! It's not ego, it's efficient! :)
*chuckles* Close. One of the three Sensei at my dojo, Sensei Leo oddly enough, places a great deal of emphasis in understanding the traditional Chinese roots that Karate comes from. This means knowing about the Chi Meridians of the human body. There is a 'healing cycle' that is used in Acupuncture, and various forms of Chinese massage. There is also a 'destructive cycle', that is used in the martial arts. The meridians correspond to the five elements, of phases, Water, Fire, Wood, Metal, and Earth. In the destructive cycle Metal chops Wood. There are points on the human body, along these meridians, where healing, and damaging techniques can be applied with greater impact.
There's a Wood point on the eyebrow.
I saw your picture, and had a chuckle remembering Sensei Leo half joking one class about how he hoped he would be attacked by someone with an eyebrow piercing.
I half pictured the two lions I respect the most having a fierce battle in a dark alley. :)
*laughs* Screw that! I'm not battling any sensei in any alley - metal on wood points would be the LEAST of my worries! All I can hope is that I run faster than your sensei, because that would be my only hope - and in the shape I'm in right now, I'm not hopeful. :)
