Where do you get off thinking you're old! Cub!!!

Well I didn't die 5 years ago at 45 and don't intend to for a while. *lol*

And I thought whining was a canine and not a feline thing!

*chuckles* Actually, I don't think 31 is old... I guess I just expected more from myself by now? I feel that, at 31, I a) should not have a list of health problems worthy of a septegenarian and b) should have some things "figured out" in my life, at least more than I currently do.

Whining IS a canine thing... that's why I upgraded to the more feline "angsting". ;)

Cutting into your social life won't be a ton of fun, but on the flip side, being in a better place yourself means you're more likely to actually have fun when you decide to go out and be social...

And, to second Grex, 31 isn't old at all.

*nods* The number itself doesn't bother me, it's just that I expected more from myself at this stage.

My social life IS a ton of fun, and I already feel like I don't see everyone enough, so I don't know how I'm going to solve that... but I think I have to somehow. We'll see what happens. I'm hoping I can have more "small gatherings" and less "single visits" and find a balance that way... even though I generally prefer to see people one-on-one, I feel that it's focused and useful time where you can get deep into the things that you might want to talk about/do together; as opposed to seeing someone at a group gathering, where it's shallower and barely feels like it counts.

*chuckles* I'm not sure what that means... but thanks, I think?

spicy food is good for your body, though.

Not for my stomach... aggravates it and causes acid indigestion. Though I can handle spicy much better than grease, acid, or alcohol.

Mental note: if ever feeding cat, avoid following burger with caipirinha.

I don't see why you have to eat bland food. you're a good cook, you should be able to make something healthy and tasty at the same time

as for your social life. maybe replacing quantity with quality will help

Well, the things that aggravate my stomach are all of the things that make food taste good:

  • grease/fat (deep-fried foods and anything that's too rich, bacon, many red meats, a lot of desserts, cheese and other milk products)
  • spice (which adds flavour as well as augments natural flavours of... everything!)
  • acid (like tomato sauce, some acidic fruits and their juices)
  • sugar (most desserts and soft drinks)
  • caffeine and alcohol don't really reduce foods I can eat, but sure limit the drink options ( ... )

that's more what I mean, making special occasions where you can have more than just one friend. I'm sorry if it came across differently.

    as for the food.

I'd say stick with the bland food for a week or two and then try to SLOWLY reintroduce small quantities of things which make them more flavorfull

*nods* Yeah, I think "reduce" is about as good as it will get for me, I need to find a balance of "healthy" and "tasty". :)
