Ianto doesn't want to believe that Jack understands, maybe because then he'd have to accept thatthings will get better and right now he just seems to want to cling to his pain and anger. It's easier than accepting the truth, and it's familiar. Jack will take care of him though, whether Ianto wants him to or not.
