Nice. I like the way Ianto's da tried to talk to him, but I think he went about it the wrong way. He started with the criticism right off the bat. I think Ianto needs to hear thiings from his da that help build him up. This constant criticism of him, his not eating, his talking back, his lack of friends, and most especially, telling Ianto plain and simple that he's not normal: "...you’re not…a normal nineteen year old." He may thing he's doing the right thing, but he's destroying an already fragile young man.

You're very right. Unfortunately, Ianto's Da never had the roles models he needed to be a good dad. He doesn't understand Ianto.

Ianto's too much like his mother to treated like Iestyn's father treated him. His grandfather didn't know how to handle his father and so couldn't teach him how to be a good father. A few hugs go a long way with a child.

Yes, Ianto is a sensitive person and unfortunately, his Da has had no role model to teach him how to deal sensitively with his son. And now Rhiannon has moved out, he doesn't have any help.
