A woman in OTO was physically abused by her male partner who specifically quoted Crowley's writings to support this behavior.

Yet the majority of people in the OTO would not agree with him. That's for most people totally not acceptable - in fact, infuriating.

There is an angle I see in Thelemic feminist arguments that I don't think is generally taken due to experience that eclectic and Wiccan groups have less sexist/genderist/racist/etc. crap. Is someone physically abused? Must be their karma, their negativity, dealing with their (spiritual piece), and "takes two to tango" - the excuses may change, but they'll still be wrong. Basically jerks look for excuses to be jerks, but even not finding one, will still be a jerk, and then make one up. If the first commandment of a religion was "don't ever hit a girl" someone would still go do it, and find some way to say in their religion it is justified.
