Niiice. Does need a shade of some sort, but would be a pity to cover up the awesome bulb.

It's bright, but not so bright that you need a shade-- plus you want to look at it (it's hard to see in that picture but the filament is a kind of "squirrel cage" design that's neat to see).

Maybe if I found a clear glass one, but so far I'm not having luck finding pendant-style shades where you don't have to buy the whole darn lamp.
