This is the first time I have heard of a lit cigarette being use as a weapon.

It would not be the first time I heard of, actually.

In this specific case though, the person did just not bother to extinguish the cigarette before attacking me, and so the smash caused additional fire-damage.

I've heard of them being used as weapons before... and cigars as well, actually -they're generally somewhat more formidable a weapon to oppose than cigarettes.
