This is wonderful! I love Cuddy in uniform, Wilson (who may love his job, but is certainly running away), and tetchy, show-off House. The ending, with the appearance of the ducklings, was just terrific, and exactly the kind of useful punishment Cuddy likes to enact. The Watson/Wilson banter was lots of fun.

Wilson is totally running away. It did seem very Cuddy to 'punish' House with the ducklings--everything he and Wilson did was wrong! But it worked, so . . .

And I have far too much fun with the idea that House is vaguely based on Sherlock Holmes.

Thanks!

God, this is brilliant. House's characterization is spot-on, from the bent wing to the nitro to the insane genius it would take to improvise that course as he flew it. Cuddy and Wilson are equally perfect. And little baby shiplings!!

The House/Wilson banter was massively worrying me, so I am extremely pleased to hear it worked for you. And I couldn't leave the ducklings out!

Thanks! His little pill-popping habit seemed too ingrained a character trait for me to ignore, and I couldn't leave out valuable characters.

I also can't imagine being stuck with House in a spaceship where he can see and hear everything for days on end. I imagine if he'd had a body, Stacy would've clocked him.

Tiny baby shiplings! Oh House. Even as a ship, you're such a wonderful corrupter.

Great fun! Loved the story.

Thanks muchly. House mostly thinks Wilson just needs a nudge in the right direction.

Space opera is a genre I'm slowly acclimating myself to, and there are a lot of people who came before who do it better--and who I have to be careful not to imitate! The House-as-Holmes concept is one that amuses me to no end, especially since both characters have such distinctive voices that writing fanfic about them is a little brain-hurting. So, thanks.
