Holy sheep. :| That was intense, and the fact that it's so short just makes it that much stronger.

My interpretation was that it really was a fungal infection coupled with hallucinations, but that after Daniel killed himself, Jack just couldn't face the idea that it'd been for nothing. Couldn't even allow that notion to exist in his universe. And the others were messed up enough to go along with him. Which is awesome.
