Hello, all! Here is Part 2. Part 3, and possibly Part 4, will not be posted til the whole thing is done, because there's a couple of thousand words of mission fic to write for Part 4, and I'm scared once I really get into it, it will backwash into things that are needed to set it up in Part 3, and I will have painted myself into a corner

For some reason, Sam kicking bones out of the way in her quest for contraceptives cracks me up. Yay for single-minded Sam!

But trust Daniel to be the one straight guy who would actually put some serious effort into being bi-curious for the sake of a good friend with an unrequited crush.

I am somewhat concerned I'm gonna get accused of Sam bashing for doing that... *cringes* It squicked me everytime I read it. But it fits with the planet building I've been doing. The bones are everywhere.

That's pretty much the way I read it. They've been there, what, over a year? And they would have gotten over the shock factor after the first couple of days. It's just such a great image of Sam undeterred by obstacles! (Though I'm sure they're all sweeping bones out of the way, all the time. Jack probably is making a little sqeamish face, though, while he does it.)

Hee! Yay! I was a little worried about putting in the contraceptive thing, for exactly the reason you said. But I have that old reality squick...

This is a completely different Daniel that most fics use, and I think I like him. And the contraceptive thing is great, since I can totally see them not wanting to bring a child into that world (and the bone thing worked for me, too, since I'm guess by now they don't even see them).

I really like that one stranded thing - argh - WHEEL! I love that one. But Sam gets pregnant in it sorta by accident. And when someone asks her, what were you thinking, she says, I guess I wasn't. I don't like that answer. At all. Of course, their stranding in that story is a lot less harsh than the one in this story. So maybe my Sam is thinking about it harder.

"Wheel" is the only OT3 fic I actually like. I feel like the "not-thinking" works there, since they're surrounded by people and happy, for the most part. Yours, like you said, is harsher, so I can imagine it being in the forefront of her mind to not bring a child into that.

You know, sensitive guy stuff aside, Daniel does seem to be kinda clueless a lot of the time. Jack's the one with the real feel for people.

The whole, "But you're straight!" "No, you're straight!!" thing had me eyerolling, seriously. And the trip to the drugstore-place was morbidly funny. :)
