Summary: Go's meeting the family. Jin's terrified. Go should be.
Disclaimer: Not mine, don't sue.
Notes: We've decided Timeranger's Honami is Jin's older sister. :D

"How bad can it be?" Go asked.

How bad could it be? How *stupid* was he, anyway? Go grinned nervously at Reika-san, Hana-san, and Honami-san, and bowed. Again. "Surely you have more to say?" Reika-san asked, sounding disappointed. Last thing he wanted to do was disappoint her. Or any of them. He knew Jin was strong enough to stand up to his family and date whoever he damn well wanted to, but it'd still be better if he didn't let Jin down.

Jin shuddered in his arms. "Bad enough. Believe me. I won't be shitty at you if you come out of there having told them just about everything. Just count it as a blessing that they have no interest in my sex life, or you'd end up talking about that, too."
Go laughed, assuming Jin was joking.

"I'd love to hear more about you and your family," Go said diplomatically, diverting the queries as gracefully as he could. He was already only too aware that he was in over his head, however. Facing his father's gentle prodding about friends, work and romantic partners was *nothing* compared to being fixed with beady stares from each of Jin's sisters.
They were all daintily attractive, all about half his weight and height, and he was terrified. How did they *do* that?

"You'll be like putty in their hands," Jin said gloomily. He reached over Go and switched off his little nightlight. It was a lava lamp, which was apparently on trend again, whatever that meant. "And they won't let me stay with you, either, which is good and bad -- better to get the first meeting over with as quickly as possible. They're very protective. And nosy." He paused. "Yeah, mostly nosy."

"We *know* about our family," Hana said, rolling her eyes at him. She took his arm and dragged him through to the living room, then plonked him down on the bright green and pink striped lounge. "Here, talk with Honami for a while. We have to go and quiz Jin about you."
Two of them left, leaving him with only one. This should've been a relief. However, the one left behind was the reporter. He grinned shyly at her as she perched herself on the edge of the delicate white chair next to him. "Oh, uh, Honami-san, you attend police press conferences sometimes, correct?"
"Yes," she said, tapping her chin with a finger. She gave him a smile. "And I'm very, very good at getting information out of people, Kamiya-san. Don't worry. We don't mean you any harm. If we'd thought you were a bad person, you never would've gotten through that door."
Go gave some serious consideration to what it would take at this point to get himself classed as a bad person so he could be thrown out. Maybe smashing a vase (though not an expensive one, he'd never do that to them)? Drawing rude graffiti on the wall (with something washable, not too obscene)?

"My dad was keen to get a lot of information out of you?" Go said uncertainly, as Jin snuggled back down against him. "I mean, he asked you lots of questions."
"Only about five. About where I went to school, and where I work, and my career aspirations. All easy stuff. And then he hugged me, and fed me." Jin cupped the side of his face. "I'll be surprised if my sisters don't have colour-coded charts drawn up of what they want to get out of *you*."

They all kissed him on the cheek in farewell, when it was time for the two of them to leave. Go was vaguely aware that he'd passed some kind of test, but all he could think about was lying down somewhere, preferably curled up in a ball, and shaking for a few hours.
Jin had an arm around him, which was the only thing keeping him both upright and heading for the car on the other side of the road. "At least it's over, Go?"
Go nodded numbly, as Jin shovelled him into the car and put his seatbelt on for him. "Yeah, uh, yeah."
"Don't worry about it, seriously. I knew they'd wring you dry. I'm sorry."
Go shook his head, pleased that there was a breeze in his face as they began driving back to Jin's place. "It's okay. It's just -- I was putty, Jin."
Jin laughed. "I know. Thank you for not running away screaming."
