I loved Doomsday Book, but it's been a while, thus my failure to spot the first line. Connie Willis has love from me! Also, I read the book while sick, which was Not a Good Idea.

hehe, thanks. And I have to admit, I might not have been able to guess some of these books just by their first lines, either. I had to look most of them up online just to make the list. I'm impressed people were able to guess so many of them. I've been reading so few books lately, it was an effort just to ocome up with a list of books that I liked whose titles I could remember. :p
