Congrats To Christian!

One bright spot from yesterday: Christian won Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Fighter at the Golden Globes! He gave a nice, amusing speech, too, and looks marvelous with his long hair! :)

Johnny Depp didn't win Best Actor for either Alice In Wonderland or The Tourist, but his two nominations may have split the vote for him

Johnny Depp's vote probably did get split. I didn't watch the Globes, but I read the write-ups. Wow. Sounds like it was an uncomfortable show for the people there.

Yeah, Robert DeNiro had some odd comments, to say the least!

But you know how it goes with these live awards shows: let's face it, most actors aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree, and without a script they're lost and awkward. The teleprompter helps, but they still mess up. :)

I'd have to say that a lot of people are bored at these things. If you're not nominated or your category is gone and you didn't win, do you care? LOL! Instead you have to sit there and look interested for three hours! At least viewers at home can change channels or read or do something else. ;)

But I enjoyed seeing Christian win. His speech wasn't bad! :)

I saw The Fighter when I was in L.A. last week -- it was suuuuuuch a great, powerful movie!

At the end, during the credits, there's a short clip of the people the movie is based on, and by the looks of it, Christian totally *nailed* the part he was playing!! He really did an amazing job of portraying his character! :)

You're right about the end credits! Here in New England, a guy who covered Micky Ward's fights knew him and his brother, and he says Christian NAILED the guy!

The movie is one of the best I saw in 2010. I hope it gets some Oscar recognition!

I was very happy that Christian Bale won. He definitely deserved it and it's about time he got some recognition. :D
