For me, the episode was dragged down by the wretched dialog and horrible acting by our friends from Atlantis. But parts were very interesting and I like how they've set up the rest of the season.

Oh, they were dreadful, to be sure! ;)

I did find a lot of nuggets in this one. I can't wait 'til the next new one in two weeks! :)

I get ridiculously excited when other DC heroes turn up on Smallville.

This season has VERY Liberal undertones- which I am so okay with. I couldn't help but wonder if the title 'Patriot' was a double entendre for both the patriotic nature of the characters and a slam against The Patriot Act.

Who knows?

I wrote a humorous essay about how nobody evers porns Aquaman in fanfic, but that was before Smallville's AC, obviously.

Whew!

Heh! It's great fun to see the heroes and villains popping up. It's cool to see Slade make his debut, and Mera is a good choice for A.C.

You could be right about the double entendre of 'patriot'. It's always a fine line between protection and tyranny. We do need protection from very real threats out there, but at what cost? Witness the hubbub over the very intrusive new scanning at the airports now. Clark wouldn't be able to wear the suit underneath his clothes! ;)

I have a fondness for Aquaman since he's dissed so much. I like underdogs. :)
