Ooh, premonitions. Roy, remember that in a couple months! Like he'd forget.

That Chet. I appreciate you're keeping him Chet and not making him a nasty piece of work in the meantime. :)

So why did he feel like crying when he looked at Johnny, the man who gave him such happiness?

Ah, that's a lovely observation. I mean, who hasn't had that feeling about someone or something or any old thing. On holiday, I walked in on a jazz improvisation and I stood in the back of a room filled with people moving and clapping and singing and it was amazing. I couldn't stop the tears, though my heart was light.

Anyway. Such a nice touch!

Yeah, I think he'd tend to remember this dream. ;)

I'm glad you noticed that! I loathe stories in which the authors make Chet to be a total jerk/monster/bastard. Of course he can be annoying and a jerk at times, but the guy's essentially good-hearted and someone who can be depended upon to watch your back. I loved the way he leaped to Roy and Johnny's defense with the 'Smoke Eater' captain was dissing them. ;)

I always read Chet's shenanigans more like his way of expressing affection, not out of malice. He didn't always know when to stop (Peace Pipe, anyone?), but he wasn't a true bully. And Johnny was the perfect pigeon - Chester B couldn't resist that.

Exactly!

He didn't always know when to stop (Peace Pipe, anyone?), but he wasn't a true bully.

Again, so true! And Johnny and the rest of the guys knew that, otherwise they'd have never let the Phantom continue.

And Johnny was the perfect pigeon - Chester B couldn't resist that.

LOL! His Phantom antics come from a long firehouse tradition of pranks, and a good prankster can never resist a pigeon! ;)
