I liked Billie's and Doris's little moment of unity here discussing their men as it were.

That scene in the film was painful to watch and even though it's awfully cliche, the moment Melvin picked Billie up, I swooned!

And considering they didn't even make eye contact, I thought there was some fierce chemistry going on there too.

I enjoyed writing that scene very much! :)

I agree! It's a hurtful scene, but I absolutely loved when Mel swept Billie into his arms. :)

And considering they didn't even make eye contact, I thought there was some fierce chemistry going on there too.

I thought so, too! Chemistry is so elusive but when you see it, it's nirvana! :)

Glad you enjoyed the story, and thanks for commenting! :)

Aw I love Billie and Doris together! This was awesome, I love it truly. I thought it was funny/sweet when they were comparing their men!
That bastard Rienecke, I like to think he got hit by a train.

A nice topic of conversation to get poor Billie's mind off things for a moment.

That bastard Rienecke, I like to think he got hit by a train.

What a creep! He had a mean look about him even before that scene. You could see some foreshadowing the way he was knocking Billie around when they arrested her. He was really ticked off that she'd slipped out of her apartment when he was one of the agents watching her. Johnny would have killed him!

Thank you for reading and commening, m'dear! :)
