What are you feeling about Black Lightning? Should I give it a shot or no? How are the characters?

I like the show. Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning) is a solid father with two daughters, striving to make his town better as a high school principal and lured back to super-heroics after eight years of staying out of the game.

I love his relationship with his ex-wife, who couldn't handle his super-heroing, but now their eldest daughter has manifested powers! She figures Jeff better train Anissa since she's going out there, anyway.

The villain, Tobias Whale, killed Jeff's father years ago. Peter Gambi took Jeff in and he's Black Lightning's Alfred, designing his suit and working behind the scenes. He's also got a boatload of secrets that will probably blow up in his face.

I recommend it. Compelling stories and characters you care about. :)
