Can someone please explain to me why practically the entire freakin' world gets to see Avengers 2: The Age Of Ultron before we here in the U.S. do

That's an easy answer, $$$$. The international box office is proving to be more lucrative than the domestic. But, hey, at least you're not in Japan. They won't get to see it until July.
Well, I'm not going to complain, as I have tickets for next week, but to be honest it has been one of these absolutely unanswerable questions why in a world that is connected as it is today and where the big companies whine about piracy all the time, they can't just get things out all across the world at the same start date.
You're right! Those in the know must be downloading as soon as the movie opens around the rest of the world. Well, no one ever said Hollywood was filled with Rhodes scholars.
I'm wondering the same thing. Apparently, the post-credits scene already showed up online and I'm sure spoilers are out there. It seems idiotic to me because the internet is a thing.
I am guessing that the US date was chosen to coincide with the weekend of Free Comic Book Day though. The last few years, Marvel has had a big release on that weekend and it's a smart weekend to premiere a comic book movie. But it's still just dumb to let the rest of the world see it before us. Unless they want spoilers and leaks to actually heighten excitement, which is possible.
Yeah, in the world of the Internet, there are no secrets! And I hate spoilers. It's like finding your Christmas presents two weeks before Christmas and opening them. On Christmas Day, where's the fun?
I love the "Oh, WOW!" moment I can get with no spoilers. I like that feeling. Already knowing a plot point takes a lot of the fun out of it for me.
I'll just have to avoid a lot of the Internet for two weeks! :)

I noticed that about Japan. They always get everything months after everyone else. Sheesh!
