I think they would have planned the crossover long before they knew what the ratings for Flash would be. Last time I checked, it had the highest ratings on the CW, leading Arrow by a comfie margin. (Weaker time slot though). Best thing about Flash is that it shows Hollywood you can be successful without going all Dark Knight.

You're right about that, they probably had to plan it out. :)

Oh, and right again about showing Hollywood that superheroes DON'T have to be all grim 'n' gritty.
