Oh, I really liked this, the mix of wartime with christmas and all the history...
I really like this time period. I've studied a lot about it politically and militarily over the years and that sense of everyone pulling together while there is always the fear of losing loved ones that permeates the homefront is tremendously compelling. It's why I liked Season 1 of the Wonder Woman TV series best as it was set during World War II instead of updated to the '70s.
Thank you for sharing this, Brady! :)
You're very welcome, m'dear! I always wanted to do more Golden Age Steve/Diana and perhaps 2014 will be the year. :)
Diana was rolling dough with a rolling pin. Dressed in a short-skirted red elf outfit trimmed in white fur, a matching hat was perched on her dark hair. Tiny earrings shaped like springs of holly swung from her ears.
Oh, what a lovely image! :D It's always good seeing them together, and I really like the Golden Age setting.

I just found that Diana in an elf costume tickled my fancy! :)
I have always wanted to write more Golden Age Steve/Diana, so I hope I can get some good ideas next year. I would like to write at least one Korean War tale, too. That war is quite different and would slide into the mood of The New Frontier, I think.
This was sweet and lovely. I like that it's set in the golden age and mixes the nostalgia I feel for that part of canon with the happiness of family Christmas and looming shadow of war/responsibility.

That's a very good description of what I was aiming for. I like those moments of gaiety with the wartime background. :)
