I tried to watch that show. I got halfway through the first episode before turning it off. But I hate the way the CW does superhero shows. I could not stand Smallville either. Unfortunately, all the little arbitrary changes for the sake change rub me the wrong way so much; grating on them every time it mentions, I go slowly insane if I try and watch those shows.

Some shows just don't resonate. The CW can be annoying, but I learned to treat their shows as Elseworlds so I'm good. :)

:3 I wish that worked for me. And it's sad because I legitimately used to love the Elseworld's comics, but something about the way the CW handles the IP just makes me sort of side-eye it and grump around. I don't know what it is.

I think it might just be DC live action in general as I can honestly say I haven't really liked a live action DC thing since the old Adam West/Burt Ward Batman series/movie. I guess the Michael Keaton movie was good too... but everything else... just, no. At least as far as I go.

I will have to disagree with you on the live-action thing. I've found the Nolanverse Bat-Trilogy and Smallville to be very enjoyable, but it's all a matter of taste. And I don't consider them perfect by any means. :)

Love the '60s Batman TV show! ;)

I lost track of Arrow pretty early on but can remember being baffled by some of those same things--Laurel, not Dinah, Starling not Star City. Placing it firmly in AU land likely is the best approach for this and just about every live action superhero show or movie. Anything DC especially seems reluctant to embrace its comic book roots.

I may try and catch some episodes in summer repeats, though.

Maybe that Marvel, Agents of SHIELD will be fun, though. I haven't seen any of the recent big screen movies beyond Ironman 1 & 2, but from what I hear they do a lot better at going with the comic book fun of it all.

Those arbitrary changes drive me crazy!

DC does seem afraid or reluctant to embrace their comic book roots, which is stupid.

I would recommend giving the show another chance. Consider it a slightly crazy Elseworld and you're good. ;)

Marvel is not afraid to have comic book fun! :)
