I know. It won't be easy, but they love each other, so they'll get through it.

I really enjoyed your interpretation of the prompt, but I feel like there's more to be said here, especially with how detailed the beginning is.

If I were Steve's lover and he told me that he'd lost everything, and then started crying uncontrollably, certainly I'd try and help him calm down, but there'd be that niggling self doubt that would creep in about whether or not Steve thought that the tradeoff would be worth it. Tony's character can often be insecure about things, and I think it would nag at him until they hashed it out.

Anyway you'd be willing to add more?

Your instincts are correct, m'dear! :)

Oh, Tony! You and your insecurities! :)

I plan on it. :) As this is a series, there is a lot more story to be told! :) I thank you for your enthusiasm. That really fires me up! It may help me get jump-started quicker on the next segment, too. :)

As Tony went over the side, Steve saw Bucky as he fell to his death in the icy mountains as the train roared down the tracks.

Oooh, I really like how you triggered Steve's angst over Bucky here! How awful for Tony--but I love how supportive and sweet he and all the Avengers were. Poor, poor Steve...I can only imagine how this next movie is going to put him through the wringer, and you set the stage so well!

Thanks, Mithen! Steve is really suffering here, and you're right, the next movie should put him through the wringer. He's mourning over Bucky and then finds out what really happened to him, which might be worse!

I agree! They're going to have work things out (once I get the time to write it, heh heh).
