2010 DCU Fic/Art Valentine's Day Challenge
"Us Against The World!"
Yes, it’s that time of year again! Time to get ready for schmoop, hearts ‘n’ flowers, and chocolate...with a twist! ;)

So here we go:
Writers, artists, icon-makers, manip-makers, wallpaper artistes, fanmixers!
Your creative work uses Valentine’s Day as your focus or backdrop and uses the traditional elements of dinner, dancing, diamonds…chocolate! ;) You know, flowery cards and candlelight and all that good stuff.
Or you can be unconventional as long as there’s romance for your couple (or threesome or more). Include black lace or an unconventional setting or whatever your devious little heart devises! ;)
And here’s the theme for 2010: the lovers face obstacles whether they’re planning a traditional holiday or not: their relationship is disapproved of or strenuously objected to by society, or the superhero community, family, friends, or even just one person. This theme works especially well with gay or lesbian couples or threesomes, but even het couples can have their problems.
The Usual Suspects:
Genre: Sure, romance comes to mind, but what else ya got? ;) Drama, humor, hurt/comfort, etc.
Pairings (or threesomes, etc. ;) ): Slash, femslash, het, gen (this is DCU but if you’d like to write Clex, hey, that fits into the DCU!)
Continuity: Comicsverse, movieverse, ‘toonverse, TVverse (Smallville, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Adventures of Superman, etc.) Cross-overs with other fandoms welcome as long as the DCU gets equal 'screen time'.
Rating: G all the way through to NC-17
Posting dates: January 1-February 14, 2010 (If you don’t make the deadline, don’t worry. We want to read your fic or look at your awesome art even it’s past Valentine’s Day!) :)
Cross-challenging welcome, so if you can fit your work into more than one Challenge, go for it!
Crossovers welcome, as long as DC characters get equal ‘screen time’.
