Do you remember the days when summer meant freedom, from school and schedules and stuff like that? Do you remember days at the beach or lake or in the backyard pool? Do you miss those lazy days of summer?
Well, then, this Challenge may be for you! :)
The complete Master List is
here. So, you want to play in the 2008 DCU Fic/Art Endless Summer Challenge? Then, writers/artists/manip-makers/icon-makers, please take note:
Use at least one of the following elements (chances are you’ll be able to use two or all three!):
Place your characters on vacation, holiday, a get-away...TIME OFF!!
Place your characters at the beach, a lake, a waterfall, Niagara Falls...NEAR WATER!!
Enjoy a lazy day of summer.
Bonus Points: mention of seafood! ;)
You could put the JLA in Arthur’s water kingdom. If it’s pre-COIE, he’ll be a cheerful host. If post-COIE, he’ll be grumpy. ;)
Maybe your characters are at a seaside cottage, or a resort, or off-world.
Maybe they’re on a mission that puts them in a summer setting. Let your imagination run wild! ;)
I’m going to post
By-The-Sea I: Perfect Day as the first story since I only posted it a week ago, and it fits the criteria. I may write a sequel going into more detail about that seafood dinner on the wharf and what happens afterward. ;)
The usual suspects:
Genre: Sure, romance comes to mind, but what else ya got? ;) Drama, humor, hurt/comfort, etc. If you want to get dark instead of upbeat, go for it! AUs are definitely welcome!
Pairings (or threesomes, etc. ;) ): Slash, het, gen
Continuity: Comicsverse, movieverse, ‘toonverse, Smallville.
Rating: G all the way through to NC-17
Posting dates: June 7-September 1, 2008 (Labor Day here in the States. And if you don’t make the deadline, don’t worry. We want to read your fic or look at your awesome art even it’s past Labor Day!) :)
Please post the link to your work here on this page and I’ll compile a Master List if there’s enough entries.
Remember, I encourage cross-challenging, so if you can fit your work into more than one Challenge, go for it!
Go forth and create sandcastles! ;)
