I'm going to Russia next week (Oct 16th - Oct 23rd) and am having to do some Visa application stuff now.

One question is "List all countries you have visited in the last ten years and indicate the year of visit". Damn. That's a research project. So far I have the countries I think, but no dates ( Read more... )

You should try applying for a DoD security clearance.. I needed one for my previous job, but I not only had to list travel, but every place I've lived and worked in the past 10 years (which, at the time of application, stretched back to high school). I had to provide references at each of those neighborhoods and jobs to verify that I was there...

Now *THAT* is a research project. Thank god I don't work for the man anymore..

Ha! when I did my clearance paperwork I had to use the space for notes to write things like "DoNotEnterThisAreaWithGovtPlatesFindThisPersonFirstTheyWillShootYou" (there was only room for 512 characters or something) I have to tell you, that raised the Federal investigator's interest in me!

I lived in a really high pot growing area in Northern California and some of my landlords were, well, farmers that would shoot first!

Silly government.
