I go to sleep for ANOTHER damn year and just LOOK at the mess yalls got yalls self into THIS time!

LL is tooting its own horn for providing - lemme see how they put it - "awesome new avatars" in they default avatar offerings available via your inventory Library.

Lots of people have complained about the latest batch of starter avatars. As usual, LL isn't doing jack about it. Their management style hasn't changed any since the beginning. Implement something half-assed, take comments from the userbase, smile and nod, then ignore that and do what they were going to do anyway.

On the plus side, it's a lot easier to create dark-skinned avs nowadays. The skins have improved a great deal. I have three different skins I use depending on the look I want. I never used to have that much choice.

As for Rodvik, he actually seems pretty cool. He also seems to get SL better than Philip ever did. He actually builds stuff in SL. He actively talks to people on Twitter (http://twitter.com/rodvik) and sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Whether he'll have an actual effect on the way LL does things remains to be seen. I'm cautiously optimistic. He's a hell of a lot better than the last guy they had for CEO ( ... )

Don't worry about ranting - it's nothing I haven't ranted about myself in the past! The lack of diverse starter avatars is a problem of ignorance or negligence. I agree it needs to be addressed, but when it comes to LL I'm always cautiously pessimistic.

LL will never get with the times on anything. There's never been a consistent direction from the company since before I joined. Why would they start now? They're too caught up making new shinies to address the problems with the old shinies.
