Dum dee dum... What else. Oh yes. NPC/PC control. Gabby's PC control has been kind of dubious lately, with one of her most recent posts especially (saying she had PC control when she didn't), and I recall Laura being surprised once that she posted some in-depth stuff without running it by her first. Shaun's has been okay as far as I know of, though I'm a bit suspicious of this current comm-wide trend of 'posting first asking permission later'. Gabby's NPC control is superior though, I believe, the only exception I can think of being the last bit with Seikou, though she wrote him pretty fine until then.
To summarize: Ryo is my personal favorite, but even though I focused extensively on Itsuo's faults and flaws, that's not enough to save him. I award Gabby the win in terms of writing, and reluctantly consistency of characterization because he started out pretty good and kind of tapered down to mediocre, while it took Shaun quite a bit and several votes to dig out of his hole and shine.
