Battlefield is pretty bare which is sad because I remember loving the idea. It kept going through the tentative titles. "Battlefield" was one, obviously. The current title now is "The Rules" but I don't remember why I called it that.
ANYWAY, the sad excerpt I have of it:

"Herb" has more at least. I have no idea where I was going with it (only that it's Brendan based), but the narrative was fun to write in:
He smirked. He couldn't help the thought, and in some ways, it was true. The elderly seemed to be the majority of the population, and he could understand why it would be popular amongst them. The town never seemed to get cold, what, with its hot, oozing sand that made your bare toes tingle and your crotch retch with the sudden urgency to urinate, and its distinct scent of wet laundry - he needed to make slight adjustments to his simile now that he thought about it.
