Ah, I'm sorry you're having trouble! Lucky getting to go, though! Have you tried Sleepy Moon? Lots of people have said that one's calming to them, though I personally don't like it (if you'd like to try it, though, I think I still have an imp lying around, and I'd be happy to send it to you (no charge)).
TAL-wise, White Light helped me through multiple dentist appointments - and I'm seriously afraid of the dentist. (To panicking and regular nightmare levels, actually). If you're interested in that, email me (kiena.tesedale@gmail.com). :) I usually just rub it on my hands and then cup my hands up to my face and breathe through my nose.
Or sometimes foody scents can help with bad dreams - food is usually comforting. What scent you'd want would depend on what *you* find comforting.
I hope any of that helps! I really, really hope you can get past your nightmares - regular (er, as in they happen regularly) nightmares suck. A lot. *hug*
Thanks for the advice - I may take you up on some of that. :)
It has been sucky... *sigh* Even worse, I'm the kind who flails around and screams and throws stuff across the room in the grip of a bad night terror, so I've been wrecking the rest of the household's sleep and running the risk of damaging my room as well (I once broke the overhead light with a well-aimed flower pot, and shattered the bulb on a candle-lamp I had on my nightstand MULTIPLE times before I wised up and got a different sort of lamp that I cannot throw). Verily, it is sucky. It's NEVER been this bad or repetitive before.
Ah, I'm so sorry! I have nightmares pretty regularly, but they're not that bad - I usually can brush them off by lunch time or so.
Have you tried a dreamcatcher? I don't believe in them spirtually, but I do believe in the ability to be comforted by things in your mind. When I'm having a really bad strech of vivid dreams (the type where you can't tell if you're awake or asleep, even when you *do* wake up), I dig out my dreamcatcher and hang it up with a little wish/prayer. And I sleep better - because I have some faith in it, especially now that I've had it work for me before. Dreams, after all, are created in the mind - so fighting back on that same turf can sometimes work.
I've had a dreamcatcher over my bed for many years, just because I like them. It might help to do what you said, a little, though. Just for the comfort of it.
I am so sorry about your night terrors. I truly understand your fears. I really like Sleepy Moon. It has helped me sleep peacefully since I got a bottle of it when it was released. If you get some Safari just remember you can't take it as a carry on. You will have to pack it carefully in your suitcase. I am sending you loads and loads of peaceful dreams.
Right, I was just going to dab a small amount of Safari on myself for the flight - just a tiny bit, maybe even on a tissue, so I can smell it when I need to without bothering other passengers.
Well, I can assure you that London is definitely worth it. :)
As for suggestions, if you have any Bastet, she's actually a very fierce protectress so I'm sure she'd be willing to protect you/make you feel strong even if you don't know anything about that stuff?
I read through the other comments and got a couple ideas:
1) put some Baku on your dreamcatcher -- it won't affect your allergies that way, but would still be there to help. 2) you can't bring an imp of Safari with you -- but you *can* dump the imp into a big cotton ball and then seal that cotton ball in a little seal-tight baggie (like a jewelry baggie). Then you can dab it on whenever you need it. :) I've done that often with perfume and BPAL, and the oil stays damp for quite some time if the bag is small and sealed well.

Actually, the not-specific-deity thing is also for my own personal religious reasons. :) Thank you for the suggestion, though!
