Midway. Shocking, I know. ;)

I was going to buy a bottle of Midway with my dragonmoon order but I took it off at the last minute :(, I wanted it because the reviews were glowing but bpals foody scents don't smell to good on me...
...So imagine my surprise when I got a bottle from a sales post from the lovely liquidxcrack...and I fell in love

Well now I know who that person is who keeps out bidding me on ebay. ;)

I've only had Samhain for about a month. If I had it at the time I was placing my DM order I wouldn't have taken Midway off it. I won't say the scents are similar, but they both have a light sweetness to them and I wouldn't have been so worried about food notes.

I was impressed by how long Midway lasts on my skin... most scents get sucked up quickly, but I was still smelling it hours later [that's a good thing].

As for using it in my scent ball at work: I found I preferred it the second day, once the OMFGFUNNELCAKE! mellows out a little.

Mine isn't strong at all, I've been reading the "is 05 different then 06?" debates ;) I wonder if that's the reason. I tend not to really believe most blends are that different from year to year.
In the bottle it's so faint I can barely smell it, on my skin it takes about 1/2 or so for a real scent to appear but when it does I love it!

do you have samhain 04 or 05.

i will say some scents vary greatly by vintage, some not so much. i have original versions of midway and new versions, they are similar imho.

samhain varies greatly! but 05 is aging to be more like 04, 03 was sharper then 04 or 05, but the drydown of all are very much alike.

3 witches orginal and revisited are like 2 different scents, i like both but yeah they are different.

I have samhain 05, I lost out on three ebay auctions for samhain 04. *cough* *cough* ;)

That's pretty much what someone else told me about samhain that the drydown is similar in 04/05 so I'm not really trying to hard to get 04, sometimes the price for some LE's get to the point where I don't think it's worth it.
Of course if smut isn't re-released next v-day I'll change my opinion on that. ;)

Three witches was exactly what I was thinking of when I posted the above comment (about the this year better debate). I've never read such different reviews for a scent that's supposed to be the same. I know that blends can have slight differences, aging and perhaps some of the components are different or from a different supplier.
Despite the bad reviews I bought a bottle of three witches 05 it's obviously easier to get then 04. I liked it and bought a second. I'm curious about three witches 04, only because it seems like most hated 05 but loved 04.

I love Midway, too! The only problem with it is that all the sweet cakey scent revs up my appetite liek whoa...whenever I wear Midway I'm hungry!

PS - foody scents don't work on me either, but Midway is the exception. The marvelous smelling exception <3

I'm hoping that as people get their DM orders I'll start seeing more midway for sale, at a reasonable price...a girl can hope, can't she? ;)

I love the funnel cake smell in Midway. Plus, it is much easier on the clothes (and hips!) then eating a real funnel cake.
