I've recently rediscovered one of my original favorites, Tezcatlipoca, I love it's bitter chocolate beginning even though I don't really like "food-y" scents, and I love the way that it lingers like smoke on the clothes that you wear with it. Who else has bonded with this one, and what other fragrances do you also love.

if i could only have two bpal ever, i would totally go with blood amber and voodoo---blood amber because it smells so fantastically unlike anything else i've ever smelled, and voodoo because it smells exactly like my dearly departed "middle earth turns to rock" soap from lush.

except now i'm really curious to try this one, bitter chocolate? could be a problem!!! :D

I haven't tried that one, but I do have "CENTZON TOTOCHTIN
The Four Hundred divine rabbits of the Aztec pantheon that preside over parties and drunkenness. Bittersweet Mexican cocoa with rum, red wine, and a scent redolent of sacrificial blood." Which doesn't smell of blood at all, but otherwise that's spot on. On me it has a tobacco scent, too. I like it quite a lot, though the wine can "turn" a bit. It sounds like it might be a good cousin to Tezcatlipoca. :)

Centzon Totochtin is my all-time love--sounds a lot like this one.

Tezcatlipoca has been on my to-try list for a long time; I hope I like it when I eventually do test it!

My recently rediscovered love is Monster Bait: Underbed. When I first tried this last year, it was too cinnamon-y and harsh, like a big open box of red hots. A friend sent me a half-bottle that had aged gorgeously, though, and smells like cinnamon brioche dough! It's sweet, a little spicy, and stays true on my skin for hours! Love it. :D

If I had to give up all other BPAL, I would simply HAVE to keep my Khajuraho (5 bottles hoarded) and Gypsy Queen (3 bottles hoarded). I love lots of different scents but those two are ones I simply cannot do without.

I've looked for Gypsy Queen and can't find it. Was it an LE? What about Khajuraho?

ohh, tez is one of my favorites! I have a bottle I got soon after it was released and it is just heaven. yeah, the start is wonderful. as it wears I love the way the incense blends with the leather and patchouli.

I think there's a similar incense in Shub Niggurath, and it really works with the ginger to make Shub one of my all time favorites.

I thought that Freak Show had a similar bitter chocolate start too. Yum!
