I have a friend that has a TS/Poly and when he went he failed the poly 3 times in a row; his 4th try he "passed." My question is what's the point of taking a polygraph if they will just let you take it until you pass?

Clearances are nothing more than credit checks and testing how far you will let the government go into looking at your private and personal business. If you go through the hoops and have fairly decent credit, you're pretty much guaranteed a clearance of any level.

That's what happens in an environment where government services are outsourced so heavily to private companies. The contracting agency is so desperate to recoup its investment that it'll take any means to ensure their guy gets in, or that they can find another guy who will.

Doesn't say much for security, does it?

By the way, your icon kills me. I don't know why, but the "O RLY" owl never fails to send me into laughing fits. :) My man anihanoch has it as his primary icon as well.
