Friday night miscellania.

Damn it, this is the third time I've tried to post this... Firefox keeps shutting down on me every time I try to start a post. Hopefully the third time is the charm...

First, bowling: I had a decent night, with scores of 198, 154 and 159, and we won all three games. h8torun was declaring her scores tonight, so it's good that she was over her average in ( Read more... )

I just wanted to thank you for the interesting tidbits from other ljers I ahd not seen. I really appreciated the two on SOuthern Baptist as I was once a SOuthern Baptist Minister myself.

I am pretty sure there are laws against solicitation in Oklahoma, but they are trying to use a Texas case to repeal the law in Oklahoma.

It's amazing the 360 people take when they are publicly outed.

Always happy to be of service. :)

I think you mentioned that once before in a post on your own LJ, and I was a little surprised. I'm glad to see that you chose to leave that position rather than take a hypocritical stance. :)

When money's involved, definitely - but here, both sides agree that there was no discussion of money. That's what makes the whole thing a grey area - there's nothing illegal about just walking up to someone and saying, "I want to have sex with you. Are you interested?"

but they are trying to use a Texas case to repeal the law in Oklahoma.Lawrence v. Texas was a Supreme Court case, however, not a Texas case. It just started in Texas, when a gay couple were arrested when a police officer broke into their home because he'd gotten a false burglary report. It was ( ... )

Thanks for the link to the Blood Ties trailer. I had no idea this was in production. I'll give it a look, but given my recent experienes with supernatural series I'm not holding out hope for anything decent. Buy it's free, so what the hell.

I don't actually read Tanya's LJ, and I haven't seen her since Gaylaxicon last June (I think - I don't recall her being at TT in July), but I've heard from third parties that she's quite enthusiastic about the show. So I don't think it'll be as bad as you might fear.

If she's at Ad Astra (which is next weekend), I'll try to see if I can get any info.

Thanks for the reference! And if I can't even *ask* for sex, I'm in serious trouble!

Once that homosexuality thing catches on, everybody's gonna be linin' up to bugger or be buggered. Sigh, there goes the human race.

And note to ALL evangelical public figures: when will you ever learn?! Next on the Bugger list: Reverend Phelps!

If that don't scream "Fag!" I don't know what does.

Please pass the mental floss. Ewww.

If I were faced with the possibility, I would have to change my LJ handle...
