Bowling night.

How's this for an appropriate icon? Now you'll all have forewarning that an entry is about the trials and tribulations of my bowling league. :)

I was supposed to meet cuteteenboy at Pape station at 5:45. I actually arrived a little late, around 6 (I kept saying, "I'll just answer one more email... just one more... just one more..." and so didn't actually ( Read more... )

On the cuteteenboy thing, I understand guilt by association. Here at work xsagirl and myself often hang out together. We have been good friends for years, but nothing more. But because we live in the same apartment complex and often leave work at the same time and sit in back to back cubicles at work, and ate both South Africans, many have (and still do) thought that we were an item. Not being a gossip-minded local, or one who fears their rumors and innuendoes, I really don't care.

Having said that, why not you and cuteteenboy? People may actually be seeing something there that the two of you are missing, similar to the "Let's give them something to talk about" song. *puts wooden spoon away*

On "ate both South Africans" I meant to say "are both South Africans", but the former is much funnier. It can be delicious to laugh at oneself sometimes!

ROFL! Better watch yourself, though - our former mayor got in a lot of trouble with a comment along those lines. There was some delegation going to Africa - I don't remember why, but I think it had to do with Toronto's 2008 Olympic bid - and he said, "Why the hell would I want to go to Africa? I keep seeing myself in a pot of boiling water with the natives all dancing around."

Needless to say, he didn't run in the next election. ;)

Oy, what a staggering level of ignorance he showed. The caricature he refers to was not even an African one, and Africa is far more complex than any one definition, even a more valid example. Not at all what I would have expected from a mayor or Toronto (a city I hold in high regard and want to visit again).

Oh, and believe it or not I was implying a sexual innuendo for "ate"!

Oops. That went over my head (unusually), probably because I still remember our former mayor with embarrassment...
