Big Blogger Wants You

Being professionally unemployed presents a dilemma.  In the off-chance you become employed again, how do you make sure your brain hasn't been turned into mush by all the Prison Break and Grey's Anatomy episodes?

Me being me, I've spent it reading up on current affairs.  One of my favorite newspapers is The Guardian, the UK's left-leaning broadsheet ( Read more... )

If you noticed - it's a non-emo post. Haha. As for Bryanboy, s/he's fun to diss, what can I say.

I met Bryan in Boracay! hahaha! :) He was really nice to me and suprisingly down-to-earth. But it wasn't party scene naman at that time.

Benta Socio! YEHESSS hahaha

Nothing intelligent to comment, yes. It's the second week of school and I'm already mentally and physically bogged down. But I think it also has to do with the emotional baggage of knowing this is my last year in UP. WAHHHH

You're the second person to tell me Bryanboy is nice in person - the first chatted him up on YM. I don't dislike him personally, just his blog.

Second week pa lang you're thinking of graduation already?! Haha. Make the most out of it, that's all I can say. :D

interesting experiment. we were just talking about non-traditional ways to get people to act as citizens (whatever you believe that means) last night in my citizenship and ethics class. somebody brought up a similar idea but we didn't know na it was being done na pala. regardless, i think you need a pretty healthy mix of columnists/perspectives to make such an enterprise worthwhile so if, say, inquirer ever decided to do something similar, i hope they bring in a couple other columnists as well. forgive me if this sounds blasphemous, but after awhile some of their columnist can begin to sound like each other.

You're right. I think there is a certain tension in the Inquirer between maintaining their institutional (anti-establishment) stand and creating a healthy mix of views to keep a broad readership.

Maybe your Citizenship and Ethics class can do a local version of the competition (or propose it to the Inquirer) as some kind of class project. I'm all for grassroots participation that isn't just political ventriloquism.
