Keeping Faith

Jun 13, 2006 23:10

The most wonderful, unexpected thing happened to me while I was in Powerbooks tonight.

I picked up a couple of books, and actually wanted to read them.  I ended up buying that copy of Fight Club I've been promising to get myself.  I would've brought home more if my almost-empty wallet had permitted it.

I haven't been able to finish reading a book ( Read more... )

Natawa ako sa entry na ito. Last night, Leo was asking me what "nerd" means, tapos sabi ko, "Ask Carl."

Then here comes an entry with more or less a definition of "nerd". :)

Hay. Still waiting for sweldo. I'll spend it on books as a pre-birthday treat. Haha.

Oooh Fight Club! Read Chapter 6 first, it's the bit they based the whole book off of, and is brilliant by itself. You can appreciate it as a short story first, and then you can read the whole book to appreciate everything. :P

nooo read the entire book in sequence :)) hahahaha my tip though-- nice to watch the movie before or after reading the book. they're entirely different entities (to me, at least) ^^

but more or less fight club is reminiscent of much of palahniuk's writing. :)

Yeah I'm planning to watch the movie too...which I've never seen. And I've also never read any of Palahniuk's other books, either. :)'

The only book you need to read anonymous June 14 2006, 04:06:18 UTC
is Kite Runner. It's wonderful: lyrical, honest, vivid, human.

Go get a copy!

I see that book around all the time. Isn't it a bit heavy, thought? I'm a recovering literary invalid; I need to take baby steps.

You should get an LJ account, Amira. You're a fan of everything Filipino anyway. :P

Hahaha, I know the feeling.

Nabobo ako sa 4th year lit namin. Ang depressing kasi ng pinapabasa.

I had a whole lot of time this summer, and the three books I blogged about early summer, I'm only half way through two of them.

The third's untouched. Haha. Depressing.

The last chapter of Collapse has been waiting for me to finish it for 2 months. I still can't muster the enthusiasm. Ang bigat eh.
