Keeping our ears to the ground.

So, there's been a bit of drama going on in the Original!Fic world lately.
As most of you know, I've got a massive lust for original stories, so I follow this stuff pretty closely.

Some of the writers involved have had their stuff archived on BND, so you may be interested in checking out some of the drama.

I've never been a huge fan of Yaoi House. Want to know why? I always thought it was utter bullshit that this chick was making money off of her AnK fanfic. We all know that AnK doesn't have a license in North America, so technically, it's not copyright infringement. BUT, we all know that these are not her characters. This made me even more cranky now that DMP is releasing the AnK novels.
Not licensed in North America, huh?

ANYWAYS, so this chick says she's found God, and God is telling her that boy humping is BAD, and that she shouldn't be writing about it.
This leaves her subscribers in the lurch, as well as people who have pre-ordered books from her.

Some other people take the reins of the operation from Miss Kira's hands, and they decide that they're still going to release the stories, they're just going to have other authors finish them.

PEACHY. Stories getting finished is always a good thing.

Now, Miss Kira's back, and saying she's no longer hearing God tell her that boyhumping is a sin.
But, there's a bit of bullshit going on over who owns the contacts that she just threw away.

Okay, so first they're going out of business, then they're doing a last ditch effort to get two books out, then the refund back one of the pre-orders and then NOTHING. We hear zilch about them.

FUN.

I've heard from some of the writers that they never received their royalties. Not a very nice way to treat your writers, Iris Print.

In happier news, our very own Tina Anderson has had some of her stuff picked up by a German publisher.
Not only am I excited for her, but I'm jealous for all of the fans in Germany who are not only going to be able to get their hot little hands on Tina's stories, but will be able to get ARTY SQUARE. *dies*
I've been bitching and praying for someone over here to licence Arty Square, and no one pays a lick of attention to me *grumble*
