I grew up in Southern CA and have been through too many earthquakes, and am definitely paranoid for like. Now I live near Portland, and while the chances of an actual earthquake are relatively low, big trucks passing by the house usually make the ground wiggle enough to get my quakey-sense activated. You are definitely not alone!

quakey-sense -- ha! i've lived here for 5 years now, but this year w/ 3 pretty big quakes, i now have a quakey-sense. how long have you been in portland? i'm hoping my quakey-sense goes away eventually...THIS IS NO WAY TO LIVE! :)

I've only been up here for about 3 months now, but I lived literally at the epicenter of the big quake in Northridge back in the day, and my apartment cracked in half, so the fear is pretty well cemented in me!
It also doesn't help that when I went to school in Olympia, my first year at Evergreen just happened to coincide with the first earthquake in the area in the last 50 years :( I guess if I wanted to finally get that tattoo in Old English across my stomach I always wanted, I *could* have it say QUAKE-SIDE? Hmm...
