I think I'm going to officially declare war on artist statements within the next 24 hours... as a volunteer at an art gallery, I've seen all of the "as an artist..." and the "in my work..."'s and I'm not sure they're all that necessary

Artist statements seem equivalent to Band Bios and I hate them both.
I start reading them sometimes, and immediately regret it. It really just taints the art. Transcend, people!
