Aidan arrived at the restaurant and glanced around for Grace. He didn't see her, but he could see through the door that the line was all the way up the stairs, so he thought it best to go ahead and get in line. He walked in and stood at the top of the stairs that led down to the basement restaurant

If there was one normal thing Grace hated above all other normal things, it was traffic. Even the pedestrian traffic in New York was bad, and it was making her late. She felt like she was running much later than she actually was, though, and she managed to get to the restaurant pretty close to on time. It took her a minute to spot her date, who’d already snagged a spot in line, but when she did, she beelined straight for him. “Sorry I’m late. Traffic.”

He grinned when he saw her. "Hey, don't worry about it. I haven't gotten far yet." He politely leaned in to give her hand a squeeze. "We still have a bit of a wait."

“Well, as long as I didn’t miss the food, it’s not too bad.” Grace laughed, and gave his hand a squeeze back. “How are you?”

"I wouldn't start without you," he assured her with a smile. "I'm good. Didn't have to work today, so that's always a good start. How about you?"
