Hey,

There's nothing guilty about my pleasure for FRIGHT NIGHT- It's my fave vampire film ever. And so Gay! Dandridge and his Day-Watcher posing as lovers, Amanda Bearse as the female lead, Stephen Geoffries as the comic relief (who also gets turned when Dandridge gives him the "I know what it's like to be different" speech) and Roddy MacDowall- it's like a Pride Parade with Fangs! And who can forget the sequel, with the Bisexual vampire room-mate and the world's first trannsexual, roller-skating bloodsucker?!!

btw- one thing I've never understood- What *was* Jonathan Stark's Day-Watcher meant to be- he's clearly not human, as we see on the stairs at the climax, but he wanders around during daytime as well. Zombie? Revenant? Any thoughts?!!

Ok, I have to admit, I adore Fright Night. Did you know Amanda was 27 when she did this film? Just a little useless knowledge :p

As for the day-watcher, I've no clue what he is. I always thought he was a human servant, just like in the Anita Blake books. As to why his demise was so gruesome, hey, it was the 80's. Doesn't have to make sense, just look cool :p

FRIGHT NIGHT rocks. Bearse also had problems from director Tom Holland, who had misgivings about casting a lesbian as a "credible" female lead. I thought she was awesome- particularly when vamped out.

I always thought that Dandridge had turned his Day-Watcher that night because he knew that Charlie and Peter were a very great threat and needed all the support he could get. That's my explanation for the melting, anyhoo *g*

I need the first one on dvd, I only have it on old VHS. But I really didn't like the second one, so I won't bother.

Fright Night is such a kickass film. I love it when they show it late at night. I want to watch it RIGHT NOW! I can say that I would most certainly be doing more than Gaurd his body (that sounded creepier written down than it did in my head). Then I think "He was Prince Humperdink how can I think he's hot!?" Then I don't care because he IS hot in Fright Night.

:D

Hi,

You don't know me, and I don't know you, but you might be able to help me.

Do you know Sammi? Where is she? SimplySammi on LJ? I miss her dearly, and I can't seem to get hold on her via MSN. Her e-mail address is inactive, apparently.

Please help me get back in touch with Sammi. :(

Regards,

Daz
