The king pointed out the inherent contradiction in the descriptions of the two items, and that's why the Chinese word for contradiction is formed out of the characters for halberd and shield. The King of Prosecutors trophy features a broken halberd and broken shield because a prosecutor's job is to pursue contradictions to their natural end and break them.
