Kingsley was in the common room, playing wizard's chess. It was raining outside, so he didn't very well want to go practice for Quiddich and catch something before their first match

"Poor things" Echo said, looking at the chess board as he circled around to sit opposite Kingsley. "I always felt so bad for my chess pieces when I was young." He picked up the enemy king and looked it over with a little sigh. "But it is exciting to win, so I played anyway."
