"No no no! Not that one, that one will rip a hole in 1975. Zig zag plotter, Toby, zig zag plotter!"

"Dad, I've got it. Okay? It's cool, yeah? Just chill."

The Doctor was teaching his son to fly the TARDIS. Well, teaching him to fly it on his own. It was nerve wracking, and though, in so many ways, he was superb at it, there was always the chance ( Read more... )

The tumultuous rumbles and crashes of the everlasting bad weather raged around Stormcage. The long dark corridors were lit by only a few strips of harsh lighting, disappearing into shadows as they wound on. Her diary was open in her lap and she was hurriedly writing her last adventures with the Doctor, desperate to get down every last detail before she lost it to the haze of day to day memories. She had only just concluded the moment they had begun sprinting down the long shimmering caverns of the Eternally Crooked Mountains when she heard that familiar sound breeze through the cell.

"Friend? What? Oh yes! Friend! That's what he is. This is my friend. He's my friend now. My friend To-m. Tom, yes. Tom my friend. Get up and say hello to River, Tom."

Toby stood up, looking at his dad and rubbing his head.

"Hey," he said.
