Actually, Roberts messed it up. It should have been "I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States" with faithfully at the beginning. I think Obama knew the oath already by heart and was surprised when Roberts messed it up. Good for him for going along with the messed up one though. :)
that actually makes a lot of sense - and truth be told, i didn't actually think that he did it on purpose, and was very surprised that he didn't seem to know it by heart. but i do think that it would make a lot of sense for him to do so, in terms of crowd manipulation, especially before that speech.
Yeah, he's pretty smart and very aware of his audience. I liked that he didn't get flustered and was still all smiley. He was technically president before that anyway. :)
