Here are some pictures from Gunslinger's Revenge. Let me say, I love Bowie, but he can sure pick some crappy movies to be in. If you get the urge to see this one, skip to Jack's entrance (Bowie) The rest of the movie is beyond describing, but Bowie is rocking the psychotic loon bit! Besides being beautiful, he even destroys a guitar, something he's ( Read more... )

That's one of the pictures 'Leather Girl' takes, but it's so badly worked into the flow of the scene it takes a minute to realize that's what it is. But he is seriously interested in that knife!

I made my dad watch this with me - it's pretty dreadful. I like how all the main character's dialogue was ADRed. But Bowie's character was fun to watch. The fact that he had a photographer as part of his entourage is endlessly amusing.

I love his entourage, if you see the end credits, they are named 'Leather Girl', 'Albino' and 'Rastafarian'
It's like he agreed to do the movie, saw the dailies and said 'Screw it, I'm going to have fun'
And it's not just the ADRed dialogue, it's that is so badly done!

I'm curious why Harvey Keitel agreed to do it! I figure he had some bills to pay.

I believe that same question popped up when I watched the movie with a friend who is a Keitel fan...
We thought maybe Bowie just really wanted to be in a Western.

Actually, he did say in one interview, I can't remember which, that he had a car that was the same color as the guitar that he used for the live video of Starman. The car didn't turn out the way he wanted and he was so angry that he smashed the guitar lol.

I did too. It was so pretty, but now, I think my guitar is prettier. :D

I missed that one! It's just such a weird spot in the movie, he's sitting there singing, outrageously bad, and stands up and slams that guitar into the guy who dares to interrupt him.

I saw Mr. Bowie's scenes from this movie last year. Mr. Bowie was great, but the small bits of the film I saw were pure garbage. I think Harvey Kietel really did need some money.

BTW, what does ADRed mean?

Love,

Oh, OT...for those of y'all livin' in the U.S. of A, Mr. Bowie's "Biography" episode is on the Biography channel right now. :)

I don't know exactly what ADRed means, but the guy who played Harvey Kietel's son didn't speak any English. So they dubbed his voice in, but like the worst dubbing I've ever seen, and I have VHS of Jackie Chan movies from the 1970's. There was and Elvira Movie where the hot guy didn't speak English either and they dubbed it in but made it a major joke, and it was dubbed better. WTF? I bought this for like 75cents on ebay just for the Bowie insanity!

Automated dialogue replacement. It just means they redub a line in the studio after photography and replace the original dialogue with the new recording. It happens in pretty much all movies, but some are better at hiding it than others.

LOVE these pictures.
And now I never have to watch the movie. I'm just going to imagine that it's about Bowie roaming the prairies, thwarting Evil with the power of music and impeccable tailoring.

OK, that I'd pay to see! I do wonder where he got the purple tinted sunglasses in the old West...
