Oh Hotch. I love his vulnerability here, and his birthday depression introspection. Sean is awesome as the brother who obviously knows his brother well (despite their age difference and distance). Reid's reassurance and acceptance of Hotch for who he is heartwarming. And Hotch recognizing and allowing himself to be happy despite his fears worries is wonderful. Lovely, lovely fic!

Wow. Thank you. There are so many bits that I love about the story, from "not so good sex" to Hotch miffed that his 'spot' had been taken by Reid, to the delightful appearance of Sean Hotchner. And yes, our dearest Hotch so uncertain, so unsure because he's convinced himself that Reid could do better then Reid quite eloquently pushed those aside.

Hee, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I always see Hotch in this constant battle with himself about who and what he is to people around him, so he needs someone like Reid to kick some Reid-like logical sense back into him. And I'm glad you found that part eloquent. You have no idea how many times I rewrote their dialogue there, lol.
