Just finished giving a talk at a workshop, about 20 people in the room. As usual these days, they are all staring into their laptops and typing and not listening to the speaker as they should be! The answer? Just use the word PORNO and they all look up!

I spent a little while today at the Edinburgh Labyrinth, trying to understand the future, the path, the choices, and my own response to that future.

Whereas so many colleagues and friends are growing exuberant vegetable gardens, I have been trying to grow vegetables for years now, using a the knowledge from growing back in London when I was a boy. And I wish to register a complaint, that after all the effort, nothing grows ( Read more... )

Here is the completed 3-pendulum harmonograph. Its what the Victorians did for entertainment when they were tired of talking, reading, and going for walks.

Tooth fairy came to the house for the first time last night! I very nearly got busted!

Sometimes it seems that no matter how much you make and do, it is the talkers that get the credit, without actually making anything. Just the same old talk every time, and they get honored again and again.
