The smell
As I drove to work today, I noticed a funny smell, but it soon disappeared with the A/C on. I noticed it again, only stronger, when I went to lunch. It smelt a bit like sour milk. A quick search of the car revealed nothing. When I came home, I could smell it from outside the car, but I could still find nothing.
When I walked into the hotel room, I remembered that we'd been grocery shopping the night before, and that a tub of ice cream had come open inside the shopping bag. Perhaps some ice cream had spilt in the boot (US: trunk) so I went down to check. A search of the boot revealed two pounds of minced beef (also purchased last night) in a side pocket. The plastic bags had swollen to more that twice their original size. Fortunately they hadn't exploded.
Now how do I get rid of the smell?
